Seven Complete 2008 Lab B at Breese

Seven linemen from the IMUA-member communities of Batavia, Geneseo, Princeton, Mascoutah, Rock Falls, Roodhouse and Waterloo completed this year’s IMUA/TVPPA Lineworkers Construction School (Lab B), held June 23-27 in Breese.

Held at the City of Breese Activity Center and taught by veteran TVPPA Instructor John Marse, the week-long training program combined classroom instruction with a variety of “hands-on” field training and focused on such topics as overhead line construction techniques and requirements; guys and anchors;
grounding of cables and equipment; voltage standards and regulations; transformer installations and maintenance; and, a host of safety-related issues and topics.
